A man has been taken to hospital after a minibus crashed into a tree in Wivelsfield Road this afternoon (March 25).

The accident happened near The Royal Oak pub on the B2112.

Fire and rescue crews were called to the scene at 4.26pm. A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said a man was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance.

The man was trapped in the minibus and cut out of the vehicle by firefighters.

Two fire engines and a heavy rescue unit were called. Officers from Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.
