A car collided with a pump at a service station at Pease Pottage yesterday (Monday July 21).

Firefighters were called to the Brighton Road station at around 4.10pm.

A car had collided with a LPG pump and the station was evacuated before the emergency service arrived.

The gas supply and electricity were isolated and a safety cordon set up.

The incident was then handed over to a gas engineer and the service station manager.
