MY wife and I have been visiting Worthing for close on 50 years.
On our last visit, my wife erased the marking points on one of three parking tickets, purchased in advance at £5 each.
Remembering past procedure, she erased two points, for the beginning and end of the parking period on one ticket.
What do we find?
A fine for an "invalid" ticket.
One extra erasure, a simple error, has cost us a £25 fine.
Attendants are made to work like robots and those in charge are not concerned in reality with reducing traffic congestion but simply making money.
We are dismayed that the town has to stoop to such methods to keep up its revenues.
It besmirches the town.
